The first round of the Scottish Open began earlier today where Rory McIlroy gave good shots for the day. Additionally, on the 12th hole, he made an eagle, which was one of the best of the day.
However, after the PGA Tour, shared the 4-time major winner’s amazing performance on Twitter with the caption: “362-yard drive 210 yards 20 feet Eagle @McIlroyRory overpowers the 630-yard par 5 and takes the lead @ScottishOpen,” they came under intense scrutiny by the fans.

Soon after the post went viral, fans began raising concerns about the PGA Tour’s unintentional math error. Some of the top comments were as follows:
362 + 210 = 572…or am I missing something
— GO (@owenga) July 13, 2023
Math is a little shaky there

Boycott the @PGATOUR Sorry. I meant the Saudi Tour. #PGATour #Rory #ScottishOpen
— Dan Ward (@wardstonebatten) July 13, 2023
362 yard drive, 210 approach to 20 feet surely means the hole isn’t 630 yards long then?
— ⚒ Jamie Bennett ⚒ (@jamiebennett92) July 13, 2023
An eagle on a 630-yard hole is preposterous. Now if he only had Block’s short game.

But still no video of the albatross by @dylan_wu59 ?!? Do better @PGATOUR 🙄

362 +210 = 572. Your numbers don't add up
— Max (@Maxupnorth1) July 13, 2023
They miscalculated the distance of the 12th hole, where Mcllroy made an eagle. The real length of the hole being 401-yard par 4.
However, it will be interesting to watch the further rounds of this tournament.
