It is not a secret that golfers often lose control over their emotions after hitting a bad shot. Throwing or breaking their clubs to using expletives are some of the ways they usually use to show off their rage. World No. 2 Jon Rahm had a similar experience; however, his rage could have hurt someone this time!

“Oh my god, an amazing line there, Jon!” Rahm sounded displeased with his approach shot on par-5 of the 11th at the Memorial Tournament. As many have done in the past, the Spanish golfer threw away his wedge in rage.

Although the golfer didn’t intend to, the club nearly hit the woman holding the microphone. 

Rahm could be seen apologizing to the woman even before the club fell on her. Since it didn’t hit her, the woman also sounded nonchalant as she laughed it off with an “It’s alright.”

Notably, this isn’t the first time the golfer has shown his rage during a tournament. “Truthfully, I have been doing a lot of work when it comes to, you know, how I express my passion,” Rahm has said about his rage. He had acknowledged his emotional swing in an interview with ‘ThePostGame.’

How did the golf fans react to the incident? 

It was not the first time the golfer had shown his rage on the course. Hence, many fans thought it was time the PGA Tour officials took disciplinary actions against him or those who their clubs during a tournament. On top of that, the action nearly hurt a person, and the golf world expressed their rage through comments.

Many thought at least a fee should be remitted from the golfer for his actions.

However, some justified his actions as it didn’t hit the woman, and she sounded okay after the incident.

Most golf fans thought Rahm should get a penalty for throwing his club at a person. Meanwhile, some thought it shouldn’t be news considering the club didn’t even hit the woman.

The Muirfield Village Golf Club is presently hosting the 2022 Memorial Tournament. After the third round, the American golfer Billy Horschel is leading the field with an overall score of 13-under par. 

Meanwhile, the 2020 champion of the event, Rahm, is in T35th position with an overall score of 1-under par. He scored 72, 70, and 73 in the first three rounds.
