The 3M Open is almost in its final leg, with a list of golfers displaying an exceptional set of skills. Lee Hodges, JT Poston, and Tony Finau are in the lead and are cutting close. But it seems that the scoreboard leaders are just ready to play their best and take the title and a hefty share of the $7.8 million prize money home!

As the final round of the event comes closer, JT Poston is all set to fight it like he has nothing to lose and just steal the win from right under his friend and defending champion’s nose.

Poston started his game in Minnesota with a consistent and stellar performance. He shot 66 in the first round, and even in the second round, he shot 66. The golfer made the cut by being consistent, and as the weekend approached, he maintained his efficiency. On Saturday, he was able to hit five birdies, and his score was 5 under par. The golfer is now in second place on the leaderboard.

After his round, in an interview with Golf on CBS, the interviewer said that the two-time PGA Tour winner is quite comfortable with hot and humid conditions and banked grass greens. She then posed the question about the golfer’s comfortability for tomorrow’s round. Poston then said that being comfortable while playing is of utmost importance. He then talked about seeking inspiration from his previous wins to remember how he did it the previous two times: “I will lean on those two wins from the past.”

The golfer was aware that he would have to shoot something very low in order to win. Revealing his plans for his game plan, he said, “I’m gonna try and play like I don’t have anything to lose.” The 30-year-old seemed pretty confident and composed for the final round, just like leaderboard apex Lee Hodges. During the interview, Poston also mentioned what a great guy Tony Finau is to play with.

When the interviewer asked the golfer about his birdie on the 18th hole, he said he had two goals for the day. The first was to cut into the lead a little bit and get into the final pairings. Talking about his birdie on the 18th, the 2X PGAT winner said it felt nice to get one of the goals for the day accomplished and get his name there in the final group. Poston said it is always fun to play with Finau and that “he is one of the best guys out there.”

He spoke about how there were a lot of cheers for the 2022 3M Open champion on the course today. Poston said that amid the loud cheers for Finau, he was able to do his own thing and be under the radar a little bit.
