John Daly’s ‘Osteoarthritis’ Injury Woes Ended as Bizarre Camel Adventure Gets Spotted

It appears John Daly is back! The senior golfer had earlier withdrawn from the Chubb Classic, which took place on February 16th at Tiburon Golf Club, owing to Osteoarthritis. But, it appears the golfer has overcome his injury and is all set to make a comeback at the upcoming PGA Tour Champions event in Morocco.

A tweet was shared by NUCLR GOLF on X (previously known as Twitter) which provided updates on the senior professional. The post mentions how Daly “was spotted walking a camel in Morocco ahead of this week’s Champions Tour event” at the Hassan II Golf Trophy, along with sharing two pictures of the athlete in the act.

During the recent PGA Tour Champions event, which spanned a total of two rounds, the 2-time major champ could not finish the second day and was forced out of the tournament after the 16th hole on February 17th. Meanwhile, over the tournament, he carded a total of eight birdies, five bogeys, and five double bogeys or more, pushing his score to 7-over par with two more holes remaining.

Meanwhile, in an Instagram story that he shared a while back, the senior golfer divulged the reason behind his withdrawal to be the degenerative disease known as osteoarthritis. Moreover, he suffered from the same in his left hand which arose after his second shot on the 6th hole which hit the hard ground leading to a flare-up. As a result, on the par-5 hole, he took 11 shots to putt the ball.

In the injury update on Instagram, the pro shared the news with a snap of him getting an injection from the doctor. He did so while conveying his hope of getting through the next four months, and disclosing his plans to play in Morocco as well. In the meantime, Daly did not forget to express his gratitude towards the medical professional from Naples, Dr. Brian Wallace.

The 57-year-old’s life has been riddled with injuries. From the bladder cancer that plagued him back in 2020 leading to him growing a beard to the knee replacement surgery to the recent disease that he suffered in his hand, the golfer has experienced many a setback. However, every time he has come back portraying his resilience and determination.

But even so, he is dubbed as a colorful character on the course as the pro is usually spotted with a beer and cigarette in hand. The golfer even recently confessed how he can guzzle down a lot of alcohol along with divulging how he can drink 40 of the Good Boy Vodaka, Daly’s own brand. Regardless, his fans can be sure of one thing: an injury like the recent one on his arm wouldn’t keep him back from enjoying on and off the greens.
