Rickie Fowler had found himself in a bit of a pickle owing to none other than Jessica Korda, as she pulled out of playing with the pro owing to her pregnancy. The duo were paired up to play in the Grand Thornton Invitational, which is to be held at the Tiburón Golf Club and the Ritz-Carlton Naples on December 4.

But the slight change in plans does not seem to have affected the female golfer. In an Instagram story uploaded by the LPGA icon, she was spotted on the course, much to the surprise of her fans. Yes, you heard that right!

The elder Korda sibling had announced her pregnancy with her husband, Johnny DelPrete, a while back, as she took to her Instagram to post a series of adorable snaps. Following her revelation, the golfer decided to take a break from the sport, resulting in her pulling out of the co-sanctioned event. But a surprise was in store for her followers as she was spotted at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.

The story uploaded on her Instagram handle showcases the golfer describing her return to the greens. The 30-year-old mentions how she is “doing an outing for US LBM,” all the while pointing out how it is the first time she is playing golf after her pregnancy announcement.

The 6X LPGA Tour pro continues on in the video as she describes her experience playing the sport while the unborn baby has been kicking while she was standing up. Moreover, she explained how “putting while you’re getting kicked” is the “weirdest… but the coolest feeling,” despite sarcastically remarking about the level of concentration during the same.

Her appearance on the course comes in a tournament aimed at raising money for multiple charities, including the Gary Sinise Foundation, by the nonprofit organization US LBM. Even so, she would still not be able to play for the PGA-LPGA Tour co-sanctioned event with Fowler, forcing him to partner up with another American golfer.

Lexi Thompson has been at the center of attention in the golfing world for the past few weeks, owing to the Solheim Cup and the Shriners Children’s Open. And now, she has seen herself being paired up with the 34-year-old in place of the older Korda sister at the Grant Thornton Invitational.

The mixed-gender event would consist of a total of 32 golfers, 16 from each tour, divided into teams. The tournament would consist of three rounds following the scramble, foursomes, and fourball formats, respectively. The third round would follow a modified version where both players on a team will tee their shot and switch to play the second shot for their teammate until it is then holed.
