Max Homa Becomes the First Player in History to Break 100 at the Memorial Tournament

Max Homa is one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour. Moreover, he is currently in great form as he recently won the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship. Additionally, Homa finished T5 last week at the Memorial. Meanwhile, Max Homa achieved an incredible record last week that he can be proud of.
Max Homa broke 100 for the first time in the history of the Memorial Tournament. No, we aren’t talking about the score here, but he has made 99 putts for the week at the Memorial Tournament. Hence, he has become the first golfer in tournament history to record fewer putts than 100. Therefore, in this way, Homa broke the 100 at the Memorial for the first time and posted an incredible record.

Homa was 11th in the SG Putting for the week with an average of 1.086. Furthermore, he only made around 24.75 putts in a round this week. Moreover, there is another side to it as Homa was T19th in the GIR this week, which means he missed a lot of greens but was chipping in close for probably one or two putts.

Previously, 100 putts were the least for any golfer in a tournament. And Ernie Els did it in 2004, John Mallinger (2008), Joe Oglivie (2008), Spencer Levin (2012), Jon Curran (2016), Andrew Putnam (2019), and Cameron Tringale (2021). Additionally, for 101 putts, Andrew Magee (2021), Richard H. Lee (2014), and Scottie Scheffler (2021).

The gold run of Max Homa on the PGA Tour
Max Homa is enjoying the golden run currently in his career. Even though he has won only one event this season, the 31-year-old has plenty of top 10 and top 20 finishes. The four-time PGA Tour winner is knocking on the doors of victory more often than he used to before. Notably, he finished T13 in the PGA Championship, the last major event.
He has not missed a cut on the PGA Tour since January 2022. The last tournament he missed the cut was the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open. Furthermore, Max is also becoming a father this year, as he announced this news a week before winning the Wells Fargo Championship.
