PGA Tour Merger Compelled Jon Rahm to Join LIV Golf? The Spaniard Makes a Staggering Revelation

Jon Rahm was held up from becoming a part of the LIV Golf team for quite some. This was not because of the financial aspects, but because he wanted to modify the format of the Saudi league. However, the reigning Masters champion finally confirmed joining the Saudi league for the 2024 season. After so many speculations of him declining the offer to join the breakaway tour, what was it that urged the Spaniard to grab the opportunity?
Jon Rahm’s $600 million move was made based on the partnership between the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LIV Golf. As Rahm revealed in the latest podcast of The Howie Games, the players did not know about the framework. Although that was what was responsible for changing his mindset, it was not all of it.

Rahm said, “If this is going to be the future of golf, then I owe it to myself, to see what’s out there and see the product and then I started asking questions, right, a lot of the people that practice where I practice.” That was when he spoke to Greg Norman, the CEO of the Saudi League, and some other members from the management had more understanding of the offer.
He added, “So once I got more information, I said, Well, this, this is something to consider, right.” To add to the list, he had the full support of his family, and that made it all the more viable to become a part of the PGA Tour!

Well, apart from all these reasons, $600 million in itself is a lot of wealth, and very few people would decline such an offer. But the question is, after joining, how does Rahm use part of it?
Jon Rahm wants to make golf accessible for kids!
As the podcast proceeded further, the reigning Masters Champion revealed how he wanted kids to be more proactive, in not just golf, but any sport. He said, “I think the kids need to get out there and run around and play footy and cricket and I’d love to help those kids out that aren’t you know, so privileged to do so.”

He wishes to invest the money in the game that has practically given him everything! He has even created a putt for the younger kids. And since he was lucky enough to grow up near a driving range that was accessible to him, he wishes to create more such places! All in all, his main motive, after building a solid foundation for his family, will be making golf more famous!
