With the start of the 2024 season, the PGA Tour is looking to make some changes. They announced a 16-member Player Advisory Council (PAC) for 2024. There are a lot of names shuffled from their positions, and Tiger Woods is one of the people calling the shots.

For the uninitiated, this group advises and consults with the PGA Tour Policy Board (Board of Directors) and Commissioner Jay Monahan on issues affecting the traditional league. Among the PAC, Kevin Streelman and Camilo Villegas are forerunners for the PAC Chairman, selected by the Player directors. The winner will be selected by an election that will end on February 27.

The winner will also join the Board of Directors for the PGA Tour as a Player director, replacing Jordan Spieth. The other Player directors for now are Tiger Woods, Adam Scott, Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, and Webb Simpson.

Among all these PGA Tour players, the addition of Lanto Griffin and Grayson Murray was a surprising one. These two players were among a group of 21 players who raised some questions about the Board of Directors and the Tiger Woods-led PAC. They demanded a meeting with the board of independent directors to discuss matters.

Furthermore, they sent a co-signed letter to the PGA Tour Policy Board to demand clarification about the ongoing restructuring talks and business negotiations with the PIF. Griffin was especially expressive last year when discussing who should replace Rory McIlroy on the board.

With him now on the PGA Tour, only time will tell if he will work alongside the group to further the cause of the PGA Tour or remain adamant about his previous demands. What are your thoughts on the new PAC? Let us know in the comments section below.
