There is still no sign of the PGA Tour-PIF merger becoming a reality. The two golf bodies were supposed to shake hands at the end of last year, but the deadline keeps getting pushed further. But while the merger talks are proceeding, the PGA Tour has made changes in its leadership, with Camilo Villegas at the center of it.

The 42-year-old has been a PGA Tour loyalist for a long time. Now they are trusting him with new responsibilities. In a recent press release from the PGA Tour, it was announced that the Colombian golfer has won the chairmanship elections. He will now be leading the Player Advisory Council (PAC).

This decision came after a vote among the PAC members. He defeated Kevin Streelman in this election and will replace Adam Scott. The tenure of the Colombian golfer will last until the end of this year. He will be replacing Jordan Spieth as one of the Player Directors on the PGA Tour Policy Board after that. From January 1, 2025, until 2027, he will serve as the Player Director.
