Matt Fitzpatrick and his wife, Katherine, are getting ready to begin a new chapter in their lives. After spending more than three years together, the couple is about to welcome a third member into their family of two. Katherine took to Instagram and shared a couple of pictures highlighting her baby bump. And the 31-year-old golfer shared the post through his IG Story with Harry Styles’ American Girls blaring in the background. The news comes just 9 days after Fitzpatrick earned his third PGA Tour victory at Copperhead.

In the caption, Gaal wrote, “We can’t wait to meet our baby 💛 Thank you @maya_schauffele for capturing the moment 📸🌞”

Fitzpatrick and Gaal first appeared together in early 2023 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. Although the details of the beginning of their romance are still a mystery, many reports claim that their spark ignited some time after Fitzpatrick’s 2022 U.S. Open win. Since then, they’ve been spotted together quite often.

They walked the red carpet at Michelob Ultra and the ‘Full Swing’ premiere party in February 2023. Later, Gaal even carried the bag for Fitzpatrick at the 2023 Masters annual Par 3 contest. After about 11 months of their romance going public, Fitzpatrick announced their engagement.

Later in February 2025, the duo exchanged their vows and tied the knot. And now, it’s time for them to become parents. Hearing the news, good wishes poured in from all sides. The PGA Tour congratulated the couple through a post of their own on Instagram.

It’s worth noting that Xander Schauffele’s wife, Maya Schauffele, was the one behind the camera for the photograph Gaal released. Gaal’s caption highlighted Maya’s tendency to capture the candid and beautiful moments. It appears that the Fitzpatricks’ close friends were already aware of the baby bump, while the fans were still speculating.
