The front nine layout of the Riviera Country Club

It is a 7,013-yard-long course with a par 71. The course is lengthened to 7,322 yards for PGA Tour events. The best course record was set by Ted Tryba in 1999 with a score of 61. The first hole of the course is par 5 with a 75-foot elevated tee. It provides an easy start for pros but has a barranca crossing the fairway, with the left side being out of bounds.

As for the second hole, it is a long, uphill one with a par 4. Compared to that, the third one is shorter but is also a par 4, due to the wind causing trouble. On the other hand, the fourth one is longer but is a par-3 hole. It is also the favorite green of Ben Hogan.

The fifth hole is built on one side of the hill and is windy, like the third hole. It is also a par-4 hole. The sixth hole of Riviera Country Club is known for its bunker in the middle of the greens, with a par 3 to clear.

The thirteenth hole is a tricky one with a par 4. It has a barranca on the left side and roughs along the right. On the other hand, the fourteenth is an easy par 3 with Riviera’s largest green. Furthermore, the fifteenth hole is a par 4, with a two-tiered green.
