The result of 28 years of determination, grit, and hard work. That is what the world of golf has seen in the professional career of the golfer who can, undoubtedly, be dubbed a legend in the sport, Tiger Woods. However, as he nears his 26th appearance at the iconic Masters Tournament, a bizarre topic has arisen in the community – about none other than his retirement!

A tweet was shared by TWLEGION on its X handle hours ago which included a video teasing the 48-year-old’s return to Augusta National this week. But, following the post, a user went ahead to inquire about the golfer’s health to which the news handle replied by highlighting one of Woods’s unique achievements. Well, interestingly, the comments that came as a result of the fan page’s tweet sure gave the golf world a clear picture of what the fans want from the legend!

The reply from the news handle pointed out how Woods has managed to make 23 straight cuts at the Masters Tournament from 1997 to 2023, although he withdrew from the last. What’s more, the fan page also highlighted the excitement an ardent follower can get from watching him play despite any possible health concerns; “You can still get excited as a fan even with uncertainty surrounding health. Any time he plays The Masters it’s a gift to everyone”

Unfortunately, Notah Begay III, Tiger Woods’s longtime friend, came forward recently to comment on the professional’s health. And, suffice it to say, the reports do not look good for the pro. Elaborating more, the 51-year-old called attention to the biggest question he has regarding Mr. T and his upcoming appearance at the Augusta National, “Can he recover, from one round to the next?”

Adding on, he also divulged certain constraints that the 15-time major champ would have to face in the following week, “He’s got zero mobility in that left ankle and really has low-back challenges now, which he knew he was going to have.” Even so, as per Begay, the golfer is working hard even now to formulate a strategy to play despite these difficulties. Well, this would surely be music to the ears of the fans who would want to see the 82-time PGA Tour pro on the greens.

Tiger Woods, the Michael Jordan of golf?

The tweet which was posted just hours back went ahead to blow up on the internet. There were numerous responses to the post, including those that dubbed watching him play as nothing short of a treat to the eyes to reactions hoping for a 16th major victory. Regardless, love for the pro was hard to miss in the comments.

A total of 82 PGA Tour victories tied with Sam Snead, including 15 major wins only second to Jack Nicklaus who boasts 18, Woods has truly cemented his name as one of the GOATs of the sport. That’s not all, between 1998 and 2005, he has made the cut in a total of 142 consecutive events breaking the previous record held by Byron Nelson at 113.

What’s more, Woods holds the record for the most number of wins over other golfers at a total of 6 events, including the Arnold Palmer Invitational (8), and the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (8), among others. Surely, such scintillating gameplay over the years would have been a treat to the fan’s eyes. And, consequently, many followers pointed out the same; “Seeing him is always a joy. Especially when you know how hard he has worked to get there,” and “Big FACTS….When THE CAT is on property the whole vibe of the tournament shifts. 25-stroke victory let’s goooo.” However, the best comment came when Woods’s appearance at Augusta was compared to Michael Jordan at MSG.

Meanwhile, some of his followers mentioned how he is just waiting to play on the PGA Tour Champions. However, for a player to enter the circuit, he needs to be above 50 years of age. Although there are other criteria as well, Tiger Woods has the wins and numbers to easily qualify for the senior league.

Interestingly, Rocco Mediate, along with Steve Stricker, had once decided to ask the 48-year-old a serious question and probed if the legend wanted to enter the PGA Tour Champions early by changing the age rules. But, Woods responded with an immediate “No,” all the while reasoning how he wouldn’t want anything different on a circuit in which every record starts at the age of 50. Besides, the followers who were worried about his health alluded to the same, “TW is biding his time until he is eligible for the Champions Tour. He will absolutely light it up when he can take a cart. Won’t be surprised if he plays a full schedule.” One person even went ahead to highlight the worst-case scenario, “If Tiger has to withdraw because of inability to walk the course I would be surprised if he tries to play a PGA tour event again, he won’t be seen till he is 50 and can ride in a cart at Champions tour events.”

In the meantime, other fans came forward to ask the news handle for updates about the golfer’s health; “What have you heard regarding health?” and “Like what update can you confirm that’s different from the last time we seen him play.” Anyhow, it appears the followers are worried about Tiger Woods and whether he will be able to play the major for the four days. Well, we can only wait and watch!
