Even though it is not a signature event, the tournament taking place at TPC Sawgrass in Florida boasts a lot more monetary benefits for the golfers than the limited-field contests such as the Arnold Palmer Invitational or the Genesis Invitational. Moreover, it also offers OWGR and FedEx points to the athletes playing in the tournament, which has a field rating of 456.41811. A total of 80 points will be awarded to the winner, along with 750 FedEx Cup points.

Thus, it makes perfect sense as to why the athletes are pushing themselves so hard on the course after looking at the benefits that are being awarded to the golfer who emerges victorious. Meanwhile, it naturally makes one wonder who would finally end up lifting the prestigious cup!

A peek at the Stadium Course’s 2024 leaderboard

A total of 144 golfers started their run for the trophy on March 14 at TPC Sawgrass. However, three days into the tournament, only 73 remained, as the rest failed to make the cut for the weekend. Despite the same, the final day is undoubtedly set up for a spectacular display of golf, with Schauffele leading the scoreboard at 17 under with the likes of Clark and Harman tailing behind closely at T2 and T3, respectively.

Scheffler had emerged victorious at the 2023 edition of the event but is currently tied for the 6th position along with Sahith Theegala owing to his figures of 12 under over the three days of play amidst experiencing health issues. In the meantime, Rory McIlroy, who was tied for 1st after the first round, has found himself tied for the 12th spot along with Doug Ghim, Ludvig Aberg, Christian Bezuidenhout, and C.T. Pan with a score of 9-under on the scoreboard.

It appears the golf world is set up for an exciting finale on the greens tomorrow. Who do you think would emerge victorious? Share your thoughts below.
