Over the next three days, 78 professional golfers will battle for the trophy at the $2 Million event. Steve Stricker will land in the field defending his title, while legends like John Daly, Jim Furyk, and many more will try to take the feat away from him. The Sanford International‘s Instagram page posted a reel ahead of the event. You can see John Daly sitting in the golf cart, sipping his beer and telling why he feels excited yet nervous. He says, “I am excited, a little nervous, but Jake Owen’s concert. Can’t wait to see my buddy Jakey; he’s awesome.“

What to expect at the 2023 Sanford International?

Daly was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020, so he was away from golf for a while. Last year, he had a total knee replacement surgery, and later, in December of the same year, he repeated the procedure. You’d think this would keep the 19-time professional winner away from the field? But that is not the case.

He will showcase his prowess in Sioux Falls alongside many more legends. Alongside the defending champion, Steve Stricker, Steve Flesch, the two-time runner-up at Sanford International, will try to get past his second position and go one step further.

Open Championship and Senior Open Championship winner Darren Clark will also step into the field. German Professional Bernhard Langer will try to notch his 47th victory. But all of it will happen after Jake Owens sets the tone right.
