Tony Finau’s biggest supporters are his wife, Alayna Finau, and their five kids. She is often spotted on the greens supporting and cheering for her husband, and she even caddied for her in the 2018 Masters. Mostly known for being cheerful, Alayna Finau recently turned attention to an issue that one would explain as a typical mansplaining situation. A user on TikTok questioned her for wanting easy access to the greens.

He wrote, “NFL wives don’t get to stand on the sidelines; MLB wives don’t get to sit in the dugout; NHL wives don’t get on the ice. Why should U be any different? She handled it very politely, saying, “We just want to watch our player,” representing the true intention behind seeking a bit more privileged entry inside the ropes.

Alayna Finau very calmly answered the user that in the NFL, MLB, and NHL, fans can buy tickets and the crowd remains stationary; they sit in one place and can watch the sport. However, on the golf course, this is not the case. Everyone wants to see the golfers hitting shots in clear sight. She said, “It gets a little tough because we are actually walking and following each shot with our player for 18 holes. And it gets hard to navigate through the fans.”

Finau’s wife also explained that she does not find it okay to ask the fans to move very often when she is trying to move across the greens because she understands that fans usually come way before her on the hole and find a suitable view to enjoy the shot. She casually made it quite clear that she was not asking for any privileges.

The viral post has received many comments in support of the golfer’s wife, and many of them have praised the way she tackled the man who questioned her.

Tell Them”: Alayna Finau’s viral post received crowd support!

Alayna got support from another golfer’s wife too. “Tell them,” commented Jena Sims, who is the wife of Brooks Koepka. Sims is a feminist herself, and has often spoken about the sensitive issues that women are often criticized for. She clearly agrees with Alayna’s statement. As a golfer’s wife, she must have faced a similar situation on the greens, and probably could resonate with her.
