2024 Sentry Bound Patrick Cantlay Takes Up the Hero’s Mantle for Maui Even Before Teeing Up for New Year’s First Event

The Sentry is slowly encroaching upon the golf world. The hype is growing as the historic tournament joins hands with the legacy of Maui to produce the first PGA Tour event on the 2024 calendar. But, it seems as if the community has already found its uncrowned hero ahead of the tournament—none other than Patrick Cantlay.

Hawaii experienced a tragedy like no other when wildfires spread over its lands a while back in August. However, case in point, Cantlay has now gone ahead to engage in a good cause as he extended a hand to the first responder families who were affected by the unfortunate disaster.

A true hero in the golfing world! What else can be used to denote the current World No.5 as he gears up to participate at The Sentry, from January 4th, 2024. Admiringly, the 8X PGA Tour winner and his [Patrick Cantlay] Foundation have teamed up with First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF) to support the families of the first responders across the country.

As per the initiatives, the multi-year partnership would aim to raise funds along with awareness for supporting the households of emergency workers. To achieve the same, the golfer and FRCF have come together to launch a dedicated fundraising campaign to aid first responder families impacted by the devastating wildfires across Hawaii.”

Moreover, the 2X BMW Championship winner has also gone ahead to create the Patrick Cantlay Scholarship along with the foundations. The four-year grant would start in 2024 and would aim to be nothing short of immense help for the first responder children who “aspire to become entrepreneurs” in the future.

One can’t help but feel a sense of respect for the golfer as he teams up with FRCF. Besides his comments on the same, highlighting his commitment only adds to the pride that the fans have for the professional.

Cantlay shares his commitment

The 2021 PGA Tour Player of the Year revealed what an “honor” it is “to be able to partner with the FRCF.” Adding on, the 31-year-old divulged how extending such a hand is ” very important” to him while referring to the cause of “supporting first responders, their families, and the communities they serve.”

Continuing on, he said, “Together, we look forward to spotlighting the vital contributions of first responders.” Moreover, the golfer mentioned how the initiative would also look to tend to the “unique challenges that their children and families experience.” Well, he sure is worthy to be deserving of the title of Maui’s hero!
