No matter the types of events he plays in – the PGA Tour or the LIV Golf, Phil will always be Phil. Since the beginning of his career, the 6-time major champion has never been afraid of sharing his point of view on different Tour policies, even though it has brought him troubles many times. And even after joining the rival league, Phil Mickelson still takes time to find flaws in the organization and present them by including his funny side.
Although he cannot play in the PGA Tour events, Lefty watches the Tour events religiously. And according to his latest tweet suggests that the intention behind watching them might not be as pure as one might think.
“The Tour doesn’t allow shorts but does allow this weeks leader to wear joggers with ankle socks? Showing 4 inches of ankle? I’m no fashion guy, never will be, but there are some things I won’t ever understand.”

The golfer called out the American golf organization through a Twitter post after Sam Ryder, the leading player of the Farmers Insurance Open at the time, wore joggers in the final round. Notably, there is a ‘no-shorts policy’ while playing an official game in the Tour, and Mickelson was always against it. Through his tweets and interviews, he has always been vocal about it, and he took this opportunity to take a jab at the Tour, as the joggers revealed “4 inches” of Ryder’s ankles.
Calling out the PGA Tour backfired on Phil Mickelson
Sam Ryder wearing the ankle-length joggers to round 4 of the Farmer Insurance Open, had become news in the golf world. While some were on the same page with the 33-year-old’s fashion, many criticized him for it.

Mickelson might have thought that the golf world would also take his side this time and go against the Tour for allowing Ryder to wear the joggers. However, the responses he got from them were nothing like he would have ever anticipated.
Fans shared photos of the 45-time PGA Tour champion’s fashion choices throughout the years in the comment section. Meanwhile, the others simply revealed how they don’t care whatever he says.
