Phil Mickelson has been in the news for quite some time now. And now due to a statement made by Tiger Woods. Since he joined the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league, the player has been the subject of consistent controversy. The six-time major winner also lost a lot of fans in the golf community after he decided to leave the PGA.
However, it was not just the fans who condemned Mickelson’s actions and words on several occasions. Some of Mickelson’s fellow golfers, including Tiger Woods, also severely disagreed with Mickelson’s comments about the PGA Tour. On the contrary, Lefty gave an unexpected response to Woods’ comments about him.

Although Woods said nothing in support of the player’s choice, Mickelson said, “I have a lot of respect for him. I respect his opinion. I think everybody’s going to have strong emotions and opinions about it, and I certainly respect his. “
Phil Mickelson was one of the first players to leave the PGA Tour and become a part of the LIV Golf Tour. A lot of other golfers also joined in after Lefty, and had to lose their PGA memberships as a result of Jay Monahan’s statement. However, Woods and a few other players did not switch their tours and stuck to the former league.

“I couldn’t be happier. I think it’s been really good.” Mickelson said at the 150th Open press conference about his experience playing at the LIV Golf events. He said that he made the right decision of playing for the LIV Tour. He also displayed a lot of excitement to be a part of the upcoming LIV Series events.
He said, “You can’t get it any better.” after mentioning his belief that players get the best of opportunities while playing at LIV events. He is certainly impressed with the format of the Tour and said that the League has allowed him to spend more time on other things as well.

Mickelson had said a lot of things about the PGA Tour in the past, which spun around several controversies. His biography contained numerous comments that he made about the PGA Tour and its officials. He also blamed writer Alan Shipnuck for having used his comments without his authorization, when he agreed to have made those comments off the record.
