How much will Phil Mickelson earn from the Saudi Golf League?

The 51-year-old professional is in the spotlight due to the recent developments in the LIV Golf International Series. Reportedly, the World Golf Hall of Fame member has asked the PGA Tour for a release to play in the opening event of the rival tour in Centurion Club in June. According to PGA Tour precedent, Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan will allow players to play the opening event of the SGL. However, he will not allow any further releases for the events as they clash with Tour events in North America.

According to a report by the Telegraph, Lefty has signed an agreement with LIV Golf Investments to play all the eight events on the rival tour. As a result, if the report holds, Phil and the PGA Tour could get into a legal battle if the Tour starts to suspend professionals for competing in the Saudi-backed Golf League.

Moreover, the likely suspension can also lead to a lifetime ban. But the 45-time PGA Tour winner will not risk his career by just using the opportunity as leverage against the Tour.
