The LIV Golf Invitational Series is currently underway at the Trump National Golf Club. And as we all know, the field for the Saudi-backed league is more prominent than the Rocket Mortgage Classic this week with golfers like Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, and others playing the rounds.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson was the first golfer to face criticism for supporting Greg Norman’s league. Fans also criticized him for his comments on the PGA Tour. And since then, he has been facing heat from fans as he got bullied on the first hole in the third LIV Golf event. Therefore, after his first round at the Bedminster LIV Golf event, he revealed his thoughts about the same.

Phil Mickelson remains unperturbed by the heckling of fans

Phil Mickelson is going through a rough patch in his life. He faced criticism after his controversial statements about the PGA Tour went viral. He recently revealed his views on the same during the post-round interview.

“The people here have always been great,” said Phil. “They’ve really treated me well. I had a really good day with the fans. With Henrik playing well, there was a lot of good things going on,revealed Mickelson. The six-time major championship winner said he did not think much of the heckling.

“Like I said, I think I’ve always enjoyed playing in this area. We had a great day thereafter. I thought it was a good day all around. I didn’t really think much of it,” concluded Mickelson.

Furthermore, Phil revealed he is more frustrated with his game than other petty things. He has been grappling with his game since his recent comeback to golf. Therefore, his primary focus is to lift his game and get his original form back ASAP.

Meanwhile, after round one, Mickelson is at +4 going into the second round. He is T43 on the leaderboard, while Patrick Reed and Henrik Stenson lead the event with a score of -7. Additionally, Dustin Johnson and Carlos Ortiz are just behind them, with a score of -3. So it will be interesting to see who will be in the lead going into the final round.
