LIV Golf is widely known for breaking the norms in the world of golf. And Greg Norman recently made an addition to it by allowing the players to wear shorts at tournaments. The first one to set the trend for the same was Phil Mickelson, who wore shorts at a recent LIV Golf tournament.

Fans have been in love with the golfer’s massive muscular calves and showed him all their love for wearing shorts. However, nobody knew what the golfer thought about the decision until he talked about it at the LIV Golf Boston press conference. A reporter asked Lefty about the whole “shorts” situation and how happy he was with it.

“I think it just takes a disruptor like LIV to get things done,” he said. “They’ve been leading in many ways, and I’m very happy that they are leading in this particular area…I hope…the TOUR follows. I think it’s good for golf,” Mickelson pointed towards the PGA Tour to learn from LIV Golf and allow the players to wear shorts in their tournaments as well. Although Mickelson is not going to appear in any PGA Tour events soon, he still showed concern for his fellow golfers still playing on the former tour.

What did golf fans feel about the controversial LIV Golf decision?

Mickelson is the most influential player when it comes to LIV Golf. According to his contract, the golfer has tons of responsibilities on his shoulders other than just playing golf under the LIV Golf league. And it was his moral obligation to implement any new policy brought in by the league with immediate effect.

Thus, when Mickelson wore shorts to the event after Norman’s announcement, he had no idea how his fans would react to the situation. But to everyone’s surprise, fans loved watching the golfer play his rounds wearing shorts on the field. They even suggested that the same should be announced by the PGA Tour.
