The 7th leg of the LIV Golf Invitational Series is progressing at the Royal Greens Golf and Golf Club in Jeddah. As a result, it is not unnatural to see the event trending online. In fact, the officials would have been more than happy to get all the attention they could get; if only it was for the right reason.
The Jeddah tournament of the Series began on October 14, Friday. With many fan favorites playing in the event, it was bound to get a lot of viewers. However, another video garnered more viewers than the LIV Series event and stole its limelight online.

A troll video became more important than the LIV Golf competitors
The former major champions like Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka are all part of the field this week. Many fan favorites are playing at the event. Therefore, it got more than 13k viewers on YouTube, one of the live-streaming channels of the LIV Series, in merely 2 hours.
Although it can be counted as a good number, the disappointing thing is a troll video got more views than the event in the same amount of time. A Twitter user marked and posted the screenshot of both videos showing the comparison between their viewer count.
According to the Twitter user, the video ‘LIVE: Can Liz Truss outlast a lettuce?’ gained more than 14k. The tabloid Daily Star created the video as a fun race between the current prime minister of the UK, Liz Truss, and a head of lettuce.
Notably, other than the question, the photo of the prime minister and a head of lettuce, and a message showing whether she resigned from the post or not, there is nothing else on the live video. Yet, it got more viewership than the LIV Series’ live streaming, which started around the same time.
Golf world’s reaction to Invitational Series or Liz Truss vs lettuce
As expected, many found it funny that such a comparison has been made online. The fans made fun of the event and how a head of lettuce could overpower the LIV players and the tournament.
The lettuce is more exciting.

@SharkGregNorman @LIVGolfNation @LIVGolfInv @sekrah @Golf_Realist "the future of golf" vs a lettuce. And you honestly think you're going to attract more big names! 🤣🤣🤣

This confirms it. People would rather watch paint dry then golf.

Other than YouTube, the event also streams on livgolf.com live. Therefore, many claimed that the golf Series got more views than the video of Daily Star.
The difference is that everyone goes straight to the @LIVGolfInv website to watch, not to Youtube
