The one-time major winner has dropped to the 206th spot in the world rankings after joining LIV Golf last year. This ranking also puts him out of the third major of the season. Hence, the skilled golfer took to the national championship qualifiers to earn himself a spot back in the major. And not only was he able to do so, but he also impressed all around him while achieving it, including his partner, Scott Harrington!

Harrington played with the 2017 Masters winner at the Northwood Club and Bent Tree yesterday. Sergio Garcia made it through the qualifiers to make it to the U.S. Open. If this big news wasn’t impressive enough, the 43-year-old also went on to awe Harrington with his performance. After the match, the PGA Tour star texted his feelings to Dan Rapaport, who in turn posted them on Twitter.

In the texts, Harrington wrote, “Haven’t played with tiger but have played with everybody else. Was first time with Sergio. In terms of putting the bat on the ball and shotmaking, it’s the most impressive I’ve seen.”

The 42-year-old added that he was stunned by the LIV Golf star’s hunger to do well, despite playing in front of only 30–50 spectators. While praising Garcia, he added that the Spaniard has an insane ability to flush the ball. Moreover, the PGA Tour pro announced to the golf world that the Spaniard had made his way to the 2023 U.S. Open.

The Spanish golf great’s qualification, coupled with the high praise from Harrington, draws more attention to the former Green Jacket winner. And fans, of course, could not stay away!
