Every parent is protective of their child, no matter how old or young they are. And the pro golfer, Tiger Woods, is not untouched by that emotion. Recently, in the first episode of Bridgestone’s podcast, he revealed his sense of security for his son Charlie.
Woods has been spending much time with his son lately. The PNC Championship 2022 is ready to hit the grounds of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. The Woods duo has been practicing to claim the victory this year. Last year, they both finished second after John Daly and his son. However, the Woods duo carded 11 birdies in a row, creating a record for the event. Now it’s time to get serious and claim victory.

The golfer’s late father, Earl Woods, taught him to become an outstanding golfer. He was a supportive soul who stood by his son’s side till the end. And now the major championship winner is doing the same for his son. He is supportive as well as very protective too. Woods does not want his son to deviate from his goal. He believes that Charlie will create his destiny and that he will create his own identity. He won’t be Tiger Woods’ son, but he will be Charlie Woods.

While talking on the podcast, Tiger Woods revealed how Charlie had been the talk of the town. When he played his first game, he was a mere 11 -year-old kid. And now, people have too many expectations from a kid, which might put undue pressure on the kid. According to the former number-one golfer, a kid should only be treated like one. “Just let him enjoy, or don’t put any pressure on him. Come on, just let him just play. Let him be a kid.” said Woods.

The major championship winner appealed to everyone not to compare Charlie to him. Because Charlie will be his own person, and he will choose a road of his own rather than just walking in his father’s path. However, as a father, he will always be there for his son.

He will always support his son and guide him. His responsibility is to protect Charlie from unwanted pressure. Woods was against the fact that people were comparing his son with him when they were two different people. According to him, putting pressure and nit-picking would harm everyone.
