Steve Stricker never thought he would be invited to this year’s PNC Championship. To start with, the tournament for a long time was mainly a father-son event, and the 56-year-old has two daughters. The tournament’s strict criteria for the fathers required a win in a major or annexing THE PLAYERS Championship, and unfortunately, Stricker has none. But, beating the odds, Team Stricker is going to be there this weekend!

The golfer is coming along with his younger daughter, Izzi Stricker, and the pair is considered to be one of the tournament favorites. The PNC Championship is already a family affair, but more so for the Stricker family.

Steve Stricker revealed in a pre-tournament conference that his wife and his elder daughter, Bobbi, are going to be caddying for them this weekend, but there is a catch. For a major part of Stricker’s career, his wife, Nicki, has caddied for him. But at this year’s PNC Championship, the tables are turning.

This time, Nicki Stricker is moving over to Izzi’s bag, while Bobbi is caddying for her father.“A lot of fun. I’ve got our oldest daughter on the bag for me, and then Nicki is caddying for Izzi. And truly a family affair,” said Stricker.

He was asked about his wife’s role as a caddie, to which Stricker said, “Nicki has been on the bag. She started on as my caddie when I first came out on Tour. And then when we had kids, she disappeared for a while in that role. But, yeah, it’s always been – it’s always been family.”

Both his daughters play golf. This year, Izzi won the Wisconsin Girls State Championship for the second time on the spin. At the moment, she is having a great time, walking by the side of the greats of the game. Bobbi is participating in the mini-tours in Florida to regain her Epson Tour status. The invitation for the PNC Championship was for Steve Stricker and his younger daughter, though.

The invitation letter that I had was for myself and Izzi. It didn’t mention Bobbi at all,” Stricker said. Bobbi’s role as his father’s caddie, however, will be equally important, as Team Stricker needs a collective family effort to win the silverware. Do you think that Team Stricker will be able to make their inaugural experience count? Stay tuned to find out!
