Although the Home of Golf is in danger of being wiped off, the fans have massive attachment to it. Recently, a Twitter handle named UK Golf Guy shared a picture of the Swilken Bridge captioned as, “They appear to have built a garden patio next to the Swilken Bridge!” Fans could not stop themselves from reacting to the changes being made to their golf heritage.
Fans are reacting to the garden patio being built near the Swilken Bridge
The UK Golf Guy in a tweet thread shared a couple of pictures of the garden patio near the Swilken Bridge. In one of his tweets, he wrote, “It’s not quite as bad from other angles. That area always got quite worn so this is the solution I guess.” Some of the fans of the sport were welcoming of this new change being made to the iconic course. However, some of the fans were reluctant to accept such a development.

Interesting to say the least.. Probably the most photographed bridge in golf . Walk in the footsteps of Legends 🏌🏼♂️🏴⛳️🥃

Totally agree , walked over it this morning , it's not as big as the first photo suggest 👍🏻

If the tweets are to be believed, then the garden patio is not as large as it appears in the picture. Some people liked the greenery better than the recent pavement. Although some were reluctant to accept the change, most were open to accepting the change. However, the majority of the people were of the opinion that the authorities could have done a better job at it.
I think a worn piece of grass would look better than this crazy paving

Idea OK, poor execution.
— Chet Williams Design (@ChetWil73039063) February 4, 2023
ok, so now the grass will just be worn outside of the patio. This is a horrible solution.

Some even had their theories behind this new development on the course. One such account thought that this change was actually the restoration of the bridge to how it looked before becoming a golf course. Although there is no concrete proof behind this theory.
A solution. Not the best solution.

I'm sure I read somewhere that this is a restoration to how the bridge was previously before golf, might be making that up but pretty sure I seen it
