Minutes After Her $375,000 LPGA Breakthrough, Megan Khang Proudly Recounts Her Resilient ‘Journey’ of 8 Years
Khang ended her third day of the game with a lead of 1 stroke and a final score of under 18. She also closed her third day with a birdie putt from 18 feet to record her third straight 6-under 66 in Portland.
If she wins this again, this would make her a winner of back-to-back events. Last time, in 2016, Ariya Jutanugarn won her first two LPGA championships in back-to-back events. Last player to do it in back-to-back weeks was Emilee Klein in 1996. Justin Ray posted this on his Twitter account.
A week after picking up her first career @LPGA win, Megan Khang has a 1-shot lead entering the final round in Portland.
The last player to get her first 2 LPGA wins in back-to-back events was Ariya Jutanugarn in 2016. Last in back-to-back weeks was Emilee Klein in 1996.

Khang replied that she and her family are living the American Dream. She also talked about her parents and showed her utmost gratitude to them for their efforts and sacrifice. “I wouldn’t be here without them and them sacrificing so much for me to live my dream,” said Khang.
