Currently, Megan Khang is the talk of the town. This LPGA star took everyone by storm when she recently won the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open. This was also her first win on the LPGA circuit. Khang defeated Jin Young Ko in a playoff and earned the winner’s share of the $2.5 prize money.

Well, the victory cemented her place in golf history and served as evidence of her quality performance. Within days, another win and a rare milestone is staring her in the face. Let’s dive into the story.

Minutes After Her $375,000 LPGA Breakthrough, Megan Khang Proudly Recounts Her Resilient ‘Journey’ of 8 Years

Khang ended her third day of the game with a lead of 1 stroke and a final score of under 18. She also closed her third day with a birdie putt from 18 feet to record her third straight 6-under 66 in Portland.

If she wins this again, this would make her a winner of back-to-back events. Last time, in 2016, Ariya Jutanugarn won her first two LPGA championships in back-to-back events. Last player to do it in back-to-back weeks was Emilee Klein in 1996. Justin Ray posted this on his Twitter account.

We genuinely hope Khang succeeds in this endeavor. And looking at her current form, tomorrow she may create history once more. The last few weeks have been terrific for Khang. She is also part of an important squad.

Proud to represent America in Spain

Khang will represent the American team at the upcoming Solheim Cup in Spain. After her round in the Portland Classic, she gave an interview to the media. There, she was asked about what it’s like to be a first-generation American representing her country in Spain.

Khang replied that she and her family are living the American Dream. She also talked about her parents and showed her utmost gratitude to them for their efforts and sacrifice. “I wouldn’t be here without them and them sacrificing so much for me to live my dream,” said Khang.

Well, it is the dream of many golfers to represent their country in the coveted Solheim Cup, and we are glad that Khang got this opportunity. With that, will she make history tomorrow? Only time will tell. But right now, all we can do is hope for the best for her.
