The ultimate pursuit of national glory in the world of golf is almost upon us. In the 2023 Ryder Cup, 24 golfers from all of Europe and America, divided into teams of 12, go against each other. Their sole aim is to bring the highly coveted title home and write their names in the history of the sport. This 44th edition is all set to be held in Rome, Italy.

As the event gets close, fans and members of the golf fraternity are getting excited about the revelation of the final teams. They are also sharing their suggestions for the captain’s picks. One name from the golf fraternity who shared her picks recently is none other than Paige Spiranac. Her picks are similar and different at the same time to those of golf fans on Reddit. But the two combined surely make an impeccable list!

Paige Spiranac and golf fans share their picks for the US team 

Whenever any golf tournament is near, the former golfer-turned-influencer always shares her picks. And they turn out to be mostly right. The 2023 Ryder Cup is no different. She discussed her top favorites to be in the US team. Spiranac’s top picks are Brooks Koepka and Jordan Spieth. 

While choosing her picks, Paige Spiranac was unsure of Collin Morikawa being on the American team as she was unsure of her putting skills under pressure. But as per her, Koepka and Spieth will prove to be huge assets for the team in delicate and under-pressure game moments. 

A discussion amongst golf fans on Reddit about the potential US team had some similarities and some differences with that of Spiranac picks. One fan pointed out on Reddit that usually, the team’s skipper ends up choosing the top 12 players in the rankings. They asked fellow fans to share their picks for the team, and responses were diverse.

Reddit fans shared their suggestions, and the top picks for the team were Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, and Max Homa. No fan mentioned Koepka. Although Paige Spiranac and fans found some common ground as both want Spieth to be the team.

One fan thought Morikawa could be a good pick for the team with his impressive record in international events. A few other names that fans threw in the mix were Cam Young and Keegan Bradley. Indeed, there were some common picks between Spiranac and golf fans, but the former pro golfer’s heart is with Brooks Koepka. She really wants him to be a part of the team.

After the BMW Championship, the 5X major winner lost his automatic qualifying spot to Xander Schauffele. He also dropped to the 7th position in the Ryder Cup standings. LIV golfer’s fate to be in the team is still hanging by the thread. But the golf diva wants him to be on the team because of his stellar skills. 

In her podcast, she said that Koepka should be on the team because of his experience. She added that Koepka plays well under pressure, and absolutely loves competition. The Golf Mommy has previously also appreciated the golfer for his skills and his off-course qualities.
