It feels great when you are setting records on your chosen path and making history. To see one’s name among the top achievers is a dream of every athlete. But if you ask legends what is more surreal, then for them, it is definitely seeing their own blood achieving laurels in the same field.
Charles Coody, an 86-year-old golfer, was privileged enough to experience this feeling straight on. Coody is best known for his performance at the 1971 Masters Tournament, where he defeated Johnny Miller and golf legend, Jack Nicklaus. The Green Jacket winner is back on the golf field right now, this time supporting rather than playing.

Fort Worth golf legend Charles Coody, won his first PGA event at the AT&T Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in 1964. He is back on the same pitch 58 years later, this time to see his grandson Parker Coody achieve his latest feat. While on Tour at the AT&T Byron Nelson, Parker Coody made his first cut, and no one could be more proud than his grandad!

On its official Twitter account, the PGA Tour shared the heartwarming video of a grandfather congratulating his grandson. Twins’ legacy in their family sport
23-year-old twins Pierceson and Parker Coody have now joined their family sport and decided to test their fate in golf. Both undoubtedly want to become well-known in the industry. At the moment, they are both giving it their all at the AT&T Byron Nelson at the TPC Craig Ranch.
In the first round on Thursday, Pierceson Coody tied for 46th place with a 3-under 68. Additionally, Parker Coody shot a 69 and is now tied for 65th place and eligible for Friday’s second round.
It’s not easy playing the same game as the grandson of the 1971 Masters champion. They will be measured against their grandfather at every turn. However, based on their games, the future appears promising.
