The LIV Golf League plans on reaching great heights with its rebranding. The stakes are high, with 12 teams and over $400 million as total prize money. All the teams are working hard, and the fans are supporting them. But shocking news has taken over the celebration of the LIV Golf fanatics. The news has spread like a jungle fire, and now everyone is talking about it. What is the astonishing news that will make the pockets feel empty?

An additional situation for the LIV Golf defectors to tackle

The LIV Golf players will be very busy in the coming days. No, it is not because of the upcoming team matches. But they will be busy sorting the budgets for the forthcoming traveling. According to a recent report by Alan Shipnuck, the Saudi-backed League will no longer pay for the traveling expenses of the players or their caddies. All the traveling budget requirement has to be met by every individual on their own.

Shipnuck also revealed the intention behind this new policy. They want to grow the franchise and use the money in the right direction rather than golfers taking it home.

Will players get to keep any money they win?

According to the reports, players can keep the money but not all of it. Shipnuck wrote, “Players still keep the individual money they win – in Howell’s case, that was a tidy $4 million – but the $3 million for the team victory goes into the Crusher coffers, not the players’ pockets.” The most significant change in LIV Golf 2023 was giving more and more focus to the teams. And therefore, the growth of the team will be their priority, hence the policy change.
