Michelle Wie West appreciates the billionaire’s charitable gesture

The richest resident of Maui, Jeff Bezos, along with his partner Lauren Sanchez, have pledged $100 Million to help the wildfire victims. They are creating a Maui fund and hope to revive the Island from the destruction it is witnessing.

Michelle Wie West took to her Instagram stories to upload a screenshot of an email announcing the same news. The email headline said, “Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez will donate $100 Millon to the Maui Fund.” And the description reads, “Bezos who has a networth of $163 Billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, owns an estate on La Perouse Bay at the Southern tip of the Island.”

The news was announced by fist announced by Sanchez, and has since generated a lot of interest. Stars like Oprah, Steven Tyler, Clint Eastwood, and Larry Ellison also have properties on the Islands alongside Bezos; hence, it is now likely that this fund will see a lot more inflow for the ailing resident!

Unlike Bezos, West may not be able to show her love for her hometown by pledging millions, but she too has been doing her bit to help out. The ex-golf pro has been using Instagram stories to keep the conversation active about the wildfires in Maui and thereby spread awareness around the world.

The widespread destruction in the Maui Islands sent shockwaves through the spectators. And the Hawaiian star could not hold herself back from praying for the lives in danger. She had earlier uploaded a story where she wrote that she was praying for Lahaina, the town in Maui that caught fire.

She also shared a couple of videos in her stories. The first one showed the burning town, where flames engulfed every bit, and the only light that came out was from the fire itself. And the other one that followed was the aftermath. When the flames subsided, everything looked buried deep in ash and dust.

The rescue operations in the state are still ongoing, and thousands of people are still reported missing. Moreover, with the fire still ablaze in some corners, there is still a lot of uncertainty about whether or not the death toll will rise. Amid these, the LPGA great sends prayers the way of all those suffering, and with her online reach, all those made aware of her stories will undoubtedly do so too.
