Rickie Fowler was the latest guest who was invited to the Nelk Boys’ podcast. During the interview, Fowler shed light on his thoughts regarding the infamous John Daly story of when he smoked 21 cigarettes during a single round of the PGA Championship at Southern Hills.

Nelk Boys are popular YouTubers who host a well-known podcast ‘Full Send Podcast. Rickie Fowler talked about several of his ongoing storylines and also happened to share his thoughts on the infamous John Daly story.

John Daly’s famous diet at the PGA Championship included 12 Diet Cokes and a six-pack of peanut M&Ms. He had all this during a single round of the PGA Championship along with a pack of 21 cigarettes.

Fowler’s and Nelk Boys’ thoughts

Bob Menery from the Nelk Boys brought in the conversation of John Daly. He said while referring to Daly, “He doesn’t even give a f**k, like, you play in the PGA Championship, you seem like someone would take it seriously right. I don’t know if it was the meme, but 21 Dr. Peppers and like 29 cigarettes in a round?”

Fowler replied, “I don’t know how true it was, I didn’t get to see it.” At this point, Kyle of the Nelk Boys took the time to appreciate Daly with the number of drinks he had. He said, “21 darts that’s impressive,” and also added, “it’s more than a dart a hole.

Fowler followed by saying, “At Southern Hills, there’s two par-fives, so even if you have two on the par-five, you still gotta find another hole.” This story is too hard to be true, so we can’t blame Fowler for saying how true it was.

Is Rickie Fowler going to LIV Golf?

Rickie Fowler has been the latest name who has gotten involved in the rumors of joining the Saudi-backed Tour. However, the 33-year-old recent run of form has been poor.

Fowler hasn’t been able to perform with the quality he showed during the early days of his career. He only has a total of three top 10s since 2021 in the PGA Tour, out of which none of them included a win, place, or show finish.

Most recently, Fowler was clear with his intentions to continue playing on the PGA Tour. But, he has also said to be open to all options and that joining the LIV Tour could still be a possibility.
