Rory McIlroy Makes Serious Revelation About His Physical Condition

Returning to a somewhat normal schedule following the COVID-19 pandemic, the year-end golf schedule is always packed. Event after event, golfers try to be at the top of their game. However, Rory McIlroy – who will play the BMW Championship in Baltimore – is not shying away from accepting that he is exhausted, looking forward to the break he will get.

This season could be challenging for McIlroy, who finished T43 at the Northern Trust, scoring seven-under 277. While he is currently ranked in the Top 30 in the FedExCup Standings, he had slipped below No. 15 in the World Ranking. This is the first time this has happened since 2009.

A good enough performance at the BMW Championship and McIlroy will be headed to the Tour Championship as the season ends. While speaking to the Golf Digest, the 32-year-old admitted to how he has been feeling, his approach towards the same as candid as it could get. McIlroy is known to be honest, a quality his fans have appreciated over the years.

According to the 19-time PGA Tour winner, every player tends to get a little tired by this point. “I think I feel like a lot of the guys right now—a little jaded, a little tired. End of the season there’s been a lot of golf. Yeah, so a lot of travel”.

He then ended up elaborating on how he’s dealing with the exhaustion, trying to get things done one day at a time. Despite his need for a break, McIlroy knows he does a good finish to secure a spot in Atlanta. The Tour Championship will take place a few days after the BMW Championship at the East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I’m just sort of getting through it, to be honest. I’m going day by day and just trying to get through it as best I can and try to make it to next week. After that, two weeks off before the Ryder Cup. Yeah, just taking it day by day,” he added. His game feels good to him, even though energy levels are, “somewhat sort of trying to dig deep at this point”.

He even clarified that he is not trying too hard, looking to win a major and fill the seven-plus season gap. The four-time major winner calling himself the luckiest guy in the world, who is doing what he loves. He has a beautiful family and is currently wanting for nothing.
