The Northern Irishman spoke some beautiful words about Woods during an interview on Wednesday before the start of the Texas Open. What did he say?

Rory McIlroy has some delightful words for Tiger Woods
As the Masters week approaches, the hype and speculation about Eldrick Woods playing are more intense. Furthermore, the recent updates about Tiger scouting at Augusta National Golf Club to evaluate his body make his chances more positive. Moreover, Golf fans and professionals are delighted to see Tiger at Augusta.
This week, Rory is a part of the field at the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio, and he spoke about the prospects of Woods playing at the Masters. He talked about how the 82-time PGA Tour winner playing at the 2022 Masters would make it unique.
He said, “I think for golf and for the Masters tournament and for everyone, to have Tiger there would be phenomenal. I think it just adds to the event. Obviously, it does. Anything Tiger Woods does in the game of golf is heightened whenever he’s there. I mean, it would be awesome for him to be there.”

He added, “Regardless of when he does come back, whether it’s next week or a few weeks, few months down the line, he’s a wonderful addition to the game and the game of golf is better when he’s playing and when he’s playing well.” Rory’s words prove the amount of respect and love he has for Woods and what it means to have Tiger play at Augusta.
Tiger Woods has time till Masters week to confirm his participation at the event. As of now, he is on the Augusta National’s list of past champions playing. However, he still has to cement his participation.

When did McIlroy win his first major championship?
McIlroy won his maiden major championship in 2011. He won the 2011 US Open at Congressional Country Club. The Northern Irishman emphatically won the event with an overall score of 16-under-par. As a result, McIlroy comfortably won the event with a whopping eight-shot lead. On Sunday, he carded a final round of two-under-par 69 to clinch his maiden major championship title.
His final round of two-under-par featured two birdies and all pars on the front nine and he moved out in two-under-par, 34. He made two birdies and two bogeys on the back nine and made the tune in level par on route to a famous victory and first of his four major wins.
