“Oh, my goodness!” said emotional Rory McIlroy after finally wearing the Green Jacket. It was a dream come true for the Irishman, ending an 11-year major drought, also completing a career grand slam. Following his remarkable achievement, he received praise from golfing legends like Tiger Woods, who welcomed him into the exclusive Grand Slam club. The recognition didn’t stop there — even the United Kingdom stepped in to honor the 2025 Masters Champion.

Front Office Sports recently shared a post saying, Every piece of mail in the UK sent from April 15-17 has been stamped with a message for Masters Tournament champion Rory McIlroy.” McIlroy grew up in Hollywood, Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK. There have been a lot of golfers who got hometown tributes for their Masters win. However, it was the first time a message for a golfer was featured on every piece of mail across four countries for 48 hours, an honor of unprecedented scale and impact. Woods, who has five Masters to his name, never got this honor in the US. Yeah, Woods received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest U.S. civilian honor, in 2019, but not his Masters win on a stamp.

The message in the mail was simple, as it said, “Congratulations. Rory McIlroy on completing your career grand slam.” That’s undoubtedly a great feeling, but it gets even better. On Tuesday this week, King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla also congratulated the 5x major champion. “Congratulations @McIlroyRory on your historic win at @TheMasters!” wrote King Charles on X.

While the Irishman’s global influence is undeniable, his achievement was anything but easy. Rory McIlroy became the first golfer in 25 years, since Tiger Woods in 2000, to complete a career Grand Slam. He now joins an elite group as the sixth man in history to achieve this feat, alongside legends like Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.

While these big names joined the Irishman in his celebration, some other golfers also stepped up for the same.

Which other pro golfers praised Rory McIlroy?

“Love you, Rory,” randomly shouted a patron during the green jacket ceremony. The Irishman took a pause and responded, “Love you too.” Many gestures like these explain that the 5x major champion’s victory carried a lot of emotional weight. As the world of golf burst into excitement after McIlroy’s historic victory, a lot of pros also joined in for celebration. The 2x US Open champion, Bryson DeChambeau, was also emotional about the Irishman’s win.

He said, “I wanted to cry for him.” If you are crying over your achievement, it makes sense, but to be able to feel someone else’s emotions through a win is something else. Meanwhile, Chilean pro LIV golfer Joaquín Niemann commented on his Instagram post, “Well deserved, Rory. Enjoy it.” Min Woo Lee was stunned by this win and also wrote “unbelievable.”
