It wasn’t even twenty-four hours since Team USA’s dream of an away Ryder Cup win was shattered at the hands of Europe. On the other side of the pond, fans were raking Zach Johnson’s men over the coals. But Brooks Koepka had the most ‘Koepka-esque’ response when he posted a picture of his four Ryder Cup teammates in Smash GC team jersey, a team that the four-time Ryder Cupper helms in LIV Golf.

Given the hostility between LIV Golf & PGA Tour that even colored the Ryder Cup narrative, the four PGA Tour loyalists sporting the renegade faction’s merchandise took everyone by surprise. Even the great Phil Mickelson looked flabbergasted when he retweeted the image. Finally, Brooks Koepka has decided to spill the beans.

The four PGA Tour pros in question were Max Homa, Xander Schauffele, Sam Burns, and Rickie Fowler. Curiously, the LIV Golf pro himself posed in a Nike hoodie. Fans were left scrambling their head after the photo-op went viral.

Among the five, only Homa returned with a stellar performance at the Marco Simone with 3.5 points, including a clutch win at the last moment. Koepka claimed 1.5 points from his three outings, Schauffele and Burns each garnered only one point, while Fowler drew a blank on both of his outings. Expectedly, after this dismal performance, the controversial picture didn’t sit well with fans. Turns out, that was Brooks Koepka’s aim.

Everybody gets triggered, the LIV Jeddah champion revealed with a chuckle. “With what going it’s easy to stir the pot, that’s what I’m good at.

True, Koepka has courted controversies since joining the Saudi-backed league. The nine-time PGA Tour winner also wanted to lift up the team spirit with some benign fun. “We’re just having some fun,” said Koepka, brushing aside all the speculations.

Koepka heads over to Miami with a heavy pocket and a broad smile

Brooks Koepka edged over his fellow American Talor Gooch in a playoff to defend his title at the Royal Green Golf and Country Club. With that, the 2023 PGA Championship winner bagged the $4M check. A thumping victory at the LIV Jeddah also saw Koepka usurp Bryson DeChambeau in the third sport.

As this was the final event of the regular season, Koepka received another $4M bonus for finishing in the third position. Now, the 33-year-old golfer will head to Miami for the $50m season finale.

Koepka’s team, however, is still languishing in eighth position. The five-time major winner needs to pep up his LIV teammates ahead of the Miami showdown, which begins this Friday.
