John Daly is the only two-time major championship winner who has never competed in the Ryder Cup. Hence, it somewhat does bother the 55-year-old golfer as Ryder Cup is a prestigious event. Top golfers from the United States and Europe compete in this biennial event. Therefore, Daly has a slight regret that he wasn’t part of any Ryder Cup team even during his peak.

However, John said if given a chance, he would love to become a captain for the Team USA in the Ryder Cup. Moreover, there is a captain for both sides who takes all the crucial decisions for the team. Furthermore, the skipper has a couple of deputies to help him out whenever required. Hence, Daly has expressed his desire to be a Ryder Cup skipper in the future.

What would John Daly do if he became the Ryder Cup captain of the team USA?

“I would love to do it. I think it would be fun,” said Daly when asked if he would like to lead the Ryder Cup side. Additionally, he said if there was something to change after becoming the skipper, he would make players relax.

“They seem too tense when they play. Europeans make it fun. Our guys, just I don’t know. They just put too much pressure on themselves. But they just don’t look like they are having fun,” said Daly

Earlier, John Daly had said that not being part of a Ryder Cup team as a player does bother him a little bit. However, he said that he did not play better to get into a Ryder Cup team. “I just didn’t play good enough, and the captains at that time knew they were going to pick their buddies,” revealed John.

However, the chances of Daly being a captain of team USA are less as appointing a golfer who has never competed in a Ryder Cup as a skipper is very minimal. Meanwhile, for the upcoming Ryder Cup, the USA has appointed Zach Johnson as a skipper who was a deputy of Stricker last year, where the United States registered a historic victory.
