“Game-changing.” Well, that is exactly what Sahith Theegala dubbed one of his clubs, more specifically his driver, when it got fitted with the right head, shaft, and length. The result? He won the 2023 Fortinet Championship, breaking his winless PGA Tour curse. However, following his first win, the golfer has only had a mixed bag of results, despite boasting a bag full of exquisite equipment.

Although the 26-year-old’s skills do need to be complimented properly owing to the four top-10 finishes he dished out in 2024, one cannot discount the help he has received on the greens. Interestingly, for the kind of support he requires, Theegala has, since a long time ago, turned to Ping for the same.

The athlete, after entering the Jay Monahan-led circuit in 2022, had signed an exclusive deal with Ping. Fascinatingly, he has held true to his partner brand to this day, as he rose in rankings to become No. 15 on the Official World Golf Rankings. Moreover, it appears he won’t be stopping himself from rising anytime soon, all thanks to the special set of tools in his bag.

For his choice of drivers, Theegala turns to the PING G430 LST Driver, which is lofted at 10.5 degrees. What’s more, the equipment which is attached to the Project X Gen 4 Hzrdus Black 60g 6.5 shaft and marked at $579.99 provides a lot of clubhead speed. Meanwhile, the 440-cc LST helps accelerate ball speed while keeping reduced spin. Truly a club that changed the game for the golfer.

The 1-time PGA Tour champ depends on the PING G430 MAX Fairway for his 5-woods. However, interestingly, he does not utilize any 3-woods but has modified the current tool, which is usually lofted at 18 degrees to 16 degrees for his personal use. Besides, the club, combined with a Graphite Design DI 8-X shaft and PING 360 ID8 Gold grip and priced at $349.99, delivers more distance and higher, longer carries by maximizing ball speed.

Turning to his irons, the 2023 Fortinet Championship winner uses the PING i210 for his 3-irons while turning to the Blueprint S for his 4-irons down to the pitching wedges. The former is coupled with a Graphite Design DI Hybrid 85-X shaft and costs around $137.50 per club while the latter is attached to the Project X 6.5 shaft and boasts extreme control and precision.

Interestingly, the former, which is priced at $129, helps increase spin as well as consistency, providing immense versatility on shots while the latter provides better control at $150

As for Theegala’s putters, the Ping TR 1966 Anser 2 Prototype has been his go-to with a Silver blast finish, and chrome shaft priced at $162.50. Meanwhile, he uses the club, which boasts exquisite True-Roll face technology, to hole the Titleist Pro V1 golf balls, which cost $164.97 each.
