A few days ago, the course released photos of a renovated Swilcan, which had a patio at one end. The stonework had been installed in the hope that it would preserve the bridge and reduce wear and tear around it. But the golf world didn’t see it that way. To the fans, the patio was ruining an iconic landmark. And hence they retaliated, voicing their opinion all over social media.

Seeing the fans in unison caught the attention of the course. With so many dissatisfied onlookers, they took the only logical course of action and uninstalled the patio. In their statement, they wrote, “We believe that we are unable to create a look which is in keeping with its iconic setting and have taken the decision to remove it.”
