THE PLAYERS Championship has given the world’s number-one chance to make history on the TPC Sawgrass. First, no one has ever won back-to-back at the PLAYERS Stadium Course and second, no one has ever finished even inside the top five in the last 23 years. With Scottie Scheffler inside the top 10 on the leaderboard, he will be on the board for breaking and making many records.

Moreover, the Dallas resident is sailing through the 7th victory of his career that he earned at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. With a career soaring high in the last five years, Scheffler has achieved incredible success. Whether that be his victories or the stats that field them, there is no stone unturned in Scheffler’s career book. As admirable as it gets, here are five insane stats from his years on the PGA Tour.

At THE PLAYERS Championship, Scottie Scheffler shot 5 under 67 after the conclusion of round one. As a result, he is tied for sixth with six others. Justin Ray, Data Analyst for The Athletic, tweeted that after the end of round one, this was Scheffler’s 108th top-10 finish after a round conclusion on the PGA Tour in the last three seasons.

Moreover, when compared to any other golfer, the world number one has done 34 times more than any golfer has done in the last three years. This season alone, Scheffler played 6 events, out of which he finished inside the top 10 five times, and in the one where he was out of the top 10, he finished at T17 at AmericanExpress.

2. Scheffler cards the best 5 under-finish in the past three seasons

Another remarkable stat for Scheffler has to do with his score of 5 under at THE PLAYERS. From the last three seasons, the 27-year-old has made fifty-two such rounds of 5 under or better. This is 10 times more than any other pro has ever shot. Except for the Genesis Invitational, Scheffler has scored 5-under or better in all the other events he has played.

The lowest round score the world number one has attained in the 2024 season was 8 under 64 in round two of The Sentry while hitting the same score at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

3. Scottie Scheffler’s PGA Tour record in Greens in Regulation

After clinching his maiden victory at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, Scottie Scheffler has led the Tour in Strokes Gain: Approach per round. Moreover, in Greens in Regulation percentage, in the last two years, Scheffler has been topping the standings. Coming to this week in 2024, the 27-year-old is the leader again on Greens in Regulation Percentage.

The feat puts Scheffler as the only golfer to achieve the statistic in three consecutive years in the last forty years. The last golfer to rank first in greens in regulation percentage was Calvin Pete (1981–1983).

4. Scheffler’s average putting still benefits him

Although Scottie Scheffler’s putting woes have been an issue for the pro, they have not stopped him from winning. The Athletic reports that since the 2022 season, Scheffler has gained four or more strokes on the green four times. Despite this, he has won events whenever he has gained strokes. Moreover, at the 2023 PLAYERS Championship, Scheffler was 48th ranked in SG: Putting, however, he won the event in spite of it.

If Scheffler can win two events in a season with an average putting, then, as his putting has improved significantly, how many can he take home this season? The number might surpass his previous record, which was four in 2022.

5. Most to lead after a round on the PGA Tour

In the last three seasons, since Scottie Scheffler started winning on the PGA Tour, he has led or co-led the leaderboard 24 times. Which is 8 times more than the second record holder, Jon Rahm, who moved to LIV Golf in December 2023. It seems there are no other players at the moment who can dethrone Scheffler in this feat.
