Spanish golfer, Sergio Garcia, admitted to tearing his meniscus in the last week of the LIV Golf Series. While he did mention that he’d “get it cleaned up” before the beginning of the new season, he didn’t provide any further updates. That was until a few hours back when he posted a clip on his Instagram account stating he was recovering from his meniscus injury.

Sergio Garcia provides a quick update about his knee injury
The 42-year-old golfer suffered from a torn meniscus but played through the pain to lead his team at the season-ending LIV Golf event at Trump National Doral, Miami. In the post-match press conference, Garcia revealed the MRI scans showed signs of tear, for which he would seek medication.

Fast forward to one month, the Spanish golfer posted a quick clip of him recuperating from his injury. In the clip, Garcia is laid on his back while watching a FIFA World Cup game, all the while providing an update on his condition.

“Hey guys, how you doing? Just recovering from the meniscus surgery,” he said on the post. He also revealed watching the ongoing FIFA World Cup, which is being held in Qatar. Being a Spaniard, the golfer evidently supports Spain, who are leading their Group E table ahead of the likes of Japan, Costa Rica, and Germany.
Will Garcia recover in time for the next season?
In the caption, Garcia made it abundantly clear that he would be fit to play in the next season. “Knee surgery went well. Now recovery and futbol 🇪🇸 Will be ready to go for 2023 season!” he wrote in the post.

While the regular PGA Tour season has already started, Garcia might be referring to the 2023 season of the LIV Golf Series. The Fireballs GC captain is expected to tee up at the first event of the early new LIV season.

Unlike last year, the season is tentatively commencing in February, with the location not fixed yet. This season will feature a set of new hosts, including LIV events in Australia, Spain, and Mexico, to name a few.
