Greg Norman is one of the biggest businessmen in the world of golf. Despite having a super-successful career in the field of professional golf, Norman shifted his interests toward entrepreneurship. And when asked about his biggest setbacks, Norman drew a soft comparison between himself and golf great Jack Nicklaus.

What is Greg Norman’s biggest weakness?

Greg Norman is probably one of the most famous golfers of all time. The golf legend has made millions of fans for his performances during his peak years on the PGA Tour. However, today he heads the most significant competition for the former tour, the LIV Golf.

Norman has often been in interviews and media interactions where he has admitted to being stubborn about his decisions. And there was a time when he was asked about his biggest weakness.

Guess what he said: “I was very stubborn…I was set in my ways. My weaknesses were exposed as a player because I didn’t have great advice as a young kid.” Talking about his stubbornness, Norman also drew a subtle comparison between himself and golf legend Jack Nicklaus.

According to him, neither Nicklaus nor Arnold Palmer had any sports psychologists or other professionals in that era. But since they were based in the US during their childhoods, they had a special advantage over the Aussie golfer. “In my era, you didn’t have the sports psychologists, the trainers, the nutritionists. Neither did Jack Nicklaus or Arnold Palmer, but they were based in the U.S. and had a support team,” he said.

What helped Greg Norman to build his name?

Few fans might know this about Norman but the biggest golf entrepreneur doesn’t have a college degree. “I’m not a college graduate,” Norman said. I got through high school, but I believe my experiences in life…relationships are probably the most valuable thing that I could ever have.”

Strange, isn’t it? All this success without receiving a proper college education. But it takes a brain the size of Greg Norman’s to achieve what he has today. The golf legend once discussed how he built his interest in becoming a businessman. Norman never wanted to be a ceremonial golfer. And so, his priorities were clear.

Inspired by famous tennis player René Lacoste, who built a brand around his crocodile logo, Norman wanted to do the same for himself. And so, he made a brand for himself and his name with the shark logo for all his businesses.
