Lydia Ko has never been short of achievements in her golf career. In what has already been a trophy-laden career, Ko has always been calm and composed in the most strenuous of times. But was she always like this, or did it come with experience?

As a matter of fact, the 25-year-old had a maturity level beyond her age, even during her teenage days on the Tour. As a young golfer breaking records left, right, and center, she was joyful and witty with her replies in press conferences. It was evident after her entertaining speech during her teenage days, where she managed to crack the crowd with her humor.

Lydia Ko entertains the crowd with a witty speech
For someone as calm and composed as Ko, her appearance at the hotel ballroom at the season-ending ceremony in 2014 was unordinary. Here, she was again in front of several hundred people in awe of her. However, she held a mic instead of wielding a golf club, which made the difference.

Though Ko managed to keep the nervousness to herself. She had a brilliant opening to moot. “I think I should have had a shot of vodka before I came up here,” Ko joked after reaching for the microphone, which evoked loud laughter.
Ko thanks her golf caddies for the year
Later in the speech, the Kiwi golfer thanked the services of her caddies throughout that year. But the list was very long. Apparently, during a hugely successful year where she won three trophies, she changed caddies like clubs.

The youngest millionaire on the LPGA Tour eventually worked with 10 caddies that year, for which Ko called out their names to show her appreciation. The crowd was certainly enjoying it, with the last few names falling on deaf ears.
All in all, Ko’s speech was hilarious and erupted in laughter on multiple occasions. On the topic of caddies, she did mention that a long-term solution was viable in the future, which has certainly been resolved now.

Ko has resurrected her career after a temporary blip to roar again on the LPGA Tour. She recently won the CME Group Tour Championship, with caddie Derek Kistler by her side.
