After stopping at Jackson for the San Farms championship, the PGA Tour will head towards TPC Summerlin for the Shriners Children’s Open on Oct. 12. Norwegian Ryder Cupper Ludvig Aberg, seven-time-PGA-Tour winner American golfer Webb Simpson and Australian golfer Cam Davis are all travelling to Las Vegas for the event. Joining them is the defending champion, South Korean golfer Tom Kim.

But all attention will be on Lexi Thompson who will make history as the only fifth female golfer to tee it up against men. The 11-time LPGA-tour winner will join her male peers on a sponsor’s invite. Ahead of the $8.4 million event that tees off on Oct. 12, here is everything you need to know.

History of the Shriners Children’s Open

Shriners Children Open first teed off in 1983 as a pro-am event. Known as Panasonic Las Vegas Pro Celebrity Classic in the beginning, the tour has visited multiple courses before settling at its current venue in Las Vegas. Since, 2008, the event has been held in TPC Summerlin each year in October. This is also the tournament where Tiger Woods won his first PGA Tour victory.

When will Shriners Children Open tee off?

Although the tournament starts on 10 October, the actual events don’t tee off before the 12The first round starts from around 6.40 am PST, (11.40 am UTC, 9.40 am EST). The second round tees off around the same time the following day.

The third, and the fourth and final round, will begin at 7 a.m. PST (11 a.m. UTC, 10 a.m. EST) on the 14 and 15 October, respectively. The final day will witness the awards ceremony immediately after the completion of the play.

As per the official website, you can tune in to Golf Channel to catch the action live. Additionally, a Fubo subscription will enable you to stream the event live.

General admission tickets:

The general admission ticket offers access to every ‘open to the public’ venue inside the course. Starting from $35 , this also allows visitors access to other major attractions in the venue including the Hill, the clubhouse patio, the Elijah Craig, and the bleachers on holes no. 1 and 10.

 Club 360:

Starting from $125, the Club 360 offers a unique bird’s-eye view of the entire course. Nestled between holes 1, 16,17, and hole 18, the double-decker offers the opportunity to watch the final drives from the best golfers from a comfortable viewing position.

The Spot:

Starting at $225, with daily, weekly, and weekend-only options available, this all-inclusive ticket grants access to the entire venue, in addition to “The Spot”, a full-service bar, and private restrooms.

All eyes will be on Lexi Thompson as she goes on to chart history. After a strong performance at the Solheim Cup and the NW Arkansas Championship, fans are pinning their hopes on the 28-year-old.
