‘Shut It’- Paul Casey Furiously Silenced a Drunk Spectator Who Caused Nuisance During a Shot
Paul Casey is currently prepping for the upcoming Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits. This would be Casey’s fifth Ryder Cup, hoping to make it his fourth win with Europe. Casey is one of the more experienced players who will be playing at the biennial event this time, which will hopefully be a factor for the visitors to take home another win.
Recently, there was a video posted about Paul Casey interacting with a fan while on the course – visibly irritated. The video was shared in the form of a TikTok video, shared on other social media sites as well. Let’s take a look at why Casey reacted to the fan.

Why was Paul Casey addressing a fan while on the course?

The video starts with Casey getting ready for a shot, only to be disturbed by a fan smoking a little too loudly. A visibly irritated Casey turns to look at the fan, saying, “Oye mate, shut it pal. He asked you nicely a minute ago and now I’m asking you. Shut it”.
Another person on the field repeats what Casey had to say, once again asking the fan to stop smoking. This also seemed to be the last warning for the spectator, who would otherwise have been sent out. Towards the end, the smoking sound is not heard again, and Casey finally makes his shot as others clap.

The 44-year-old golfer will play the upcoming Ryder Cup with a 4-3-5 record. He has previously partnered with David Howell, Robert Karlsson, Henrik Stenson, Tyrell Hatton, and Sergio Garcia. While he did not play in the Ryder Cup for a decade, he is determined to play this season. Additionally, he won his 2006 Ryder Cup match with a hole-in-one on the 14th hole in foursomes at The K Club.
This time, Casey also qualified automatically for the Ryder Cup. While he did struggle a bit at the Northern Trust and the BMW Championship, he had a good year – which includes his Omega Dubai Desert Classic win. He finished T-4 at the PGA Championship, T-7 at the US Open, and T-4 again at the Tokyo Olympics.
