Crew says goodbye to his corrective helmet
Brooks Koepka and Jena Sims’ little warrior, Crew Sims Koepka, has faced more challenges in his short life than many of us do in a lifetime. Born six weeks premature in July 2023, Crew spent precious early days in the NICU, fighting for every breath. As he grew stronger, Crew battled Flat Head Syndrome and torticollis, requiring a corrective helmet to help shape his tiny head.
By August 2023, he was breathing on his own and taking bottles, but the helmet remained a constant companion. But now, Crew’s finally broken free from that helmet! Jena shared the joyful news on Instagram, posting adorable snaps of Crew exploring New York City’s iconic skyline and Times Square, helmet-free! “Major milestone though, Crew got to see Times Square for the first time!!!”, read the caption.

To celebrate this milestone, Jena engraved the retired helmet with a special message, “I love NY” and Koepka’s team name, Smash GC, commemorating their LIV Golf Las Vegas win. For the Koepkas, this moment brings indescribable relief and pride. Crew’s latest feat inspires us all, and his parents can’t wait to see their little champion thrive without restrictions.
