During her Solheim Cup debut in 2021 at The Inverness Club in Ohio, Leona Maguire had only her twin sister, Lisa, cheering her on from the Irish side due to post-Covid travel limitations. However, this time around Andalucia promises a different scenario.

Not only will her entire family be present, but a large contingent of Irish supporters are also expected to rally behind one of their own, showcasing their renowned passion for backing their compatriots.

When questioned about her inaugural Solheim Cup experience on European soil, especially after her previous outing in the States where she only had her sister for company, Leona Maguire expressed her enthusiasm, “Yeah, really excited. There was quite a lot of Irish people heading over on my flight, even on Sunday, and then today there was quite a few tricolors out there, a few people dressed up already today, which is pretty impressive for a Tuesday.”

She further continued, “So yeah, really excited and nice to have the fans cheering along and everybody so excited for us to be here. Hopefully we can give them some things to cheer about, referring to aiming to deliver a performance that matches their passion.
