Ever since Jon Rahm walked out of TGL, rumors of him joining LIV have sparked once again. Every other day now brings with it a new update on the matter. Moreover, the major news that has left all the fans alarmed is the Saudi-backed league’s offer to Rahm—a whopping $600 million.

While their offer makes it evident that LIV is eager to poach the World No. 2, there has been no statement from Rahm himself. The situation, however, is brutal; after all, that is no ordinary amount of money. Despite the flimsy position that the Spaniard sits in, he’s still been able to wow the players on the tour. And amid the hot mess, one PGA Tour pro has gone on to loudly voice his admiration for the two-time major winner!

Jon Rahm finds an ally in fellow PGA Tour winner

Jon Rahm undoubtedly has many friends on the tour; one of his closest, however, is Max Homa. The two have played together in numerous events and even learned from each other thanks to their skills on the course. Homa, however, continues to learn from Rahm every time he watches him play and recently voiced exactly that sentiment when he appeared on the The Smylie Show podcast.

When the American star was asked about how he maintained consistency during all four rounds of a tournament, Homa responded, saying that he just tries to play well and has accepted the fact that he can’t be at his best every day. Proclaiming this, the 6-time PGA Tour winner then threw in Rahm’s name, stating that he was one such player who actually could keep that consistency.

“I think that’s why I’m so fascinated with Jon Rahm,” said Homa. “He’s just so amazing lately… [he can] shoot one over and around and not panic.” Explaining further, the golf pro cited the Spaniard Masters performance, where he shot 1 over during the 3rd round and still kept his composure and went on to grab a win on Sunday.

The golf pro clearly understood that “being able to turn your brain off and go play” was no cakewalk, and that is what he wanted to learn from the likes of Rahm, Justin Rose, and other great players on the Tour.

Homa draws inspiration from his competition

Homa claimed that seeing Rose and Rahm play great golf day in and day out and constantly outworking him and doing better than him in certain aspects of the game served as motivation for him. He stated that it was that consistency that separated the greats from the rest on the tour.

“They talk about the kind of tiny margins between the best players and then the next wave and the next wave, and I think that that’s for me probably my margin; I need to get better at looking at those guys,” he said willfully.

Homa’s words of praise for Rahm amidst the criticism he is facing for a potential switch to LIV Golf will undoubtedly serve as a relief to the Spaniard and further strengthen their bond. What do you think about his remarks? Let us know in the comments below.
