Often it happens that paths of sporting entities intersect. One such intersection recently took place.
The soccer legend Alex Morgan shared a glimpse of an LPGA video on her Instagram story. The video had an interesting announcement to make with respect to the Team USA for the upcoming Solheim Cup.

From September 22-24, Team USA, led by Stacy Lewis, faces Team Europe, led by Captain Suzann Pettersen at Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, Spain. Let’s dive into the story which involves two great American sportspersons.

Alex Morgan’s Captivating Announcement

The video began with the introduction by two-time World Cup champion Julie Foudy, setting the stage for a significant announcement by Alex Morgan.

Taking the spotlight, Alex Morgan then went on to announce a key addition to Team USA. She proudly named Nelly Korda as a member of this year’s Solheim Cup’s Team USA.

The soccer legend was seen sitting in the comfort of a home in a rather casual outfit. She had her hair tied in a bun and was wearing a skin-colored tank top along with black bottoms.

She congratulated Korda on making it to the team and said: “Congrats Nelly you are such an inspiration.” She went on to praise her for the fact that this will be her third Solheim Cup appearance. Alex Morgan praised her fulfilling and exciting journey. As the worlds of soccer and golf converge, the stage is set for a thrilling experience.

Team USA’s Diverse and Dynamic Lineup

Several other players were also announced for the Team USA. The team will be comprised of 12 more players. The players have been selected by automatic qualification as well as by captain’s picks. Ally Ewing, Cheyenne Knight and Angel Yin were the three captain’s picks.

The recent CPKC Women’s Open 2023 winner Meghan Khang is a part of the team along with the six-time LPGA winner Danielle Kang.  The three-time LPGA Tour winner and experienced Solheim Cup player Jennifer Kupcho was also part of the team. The major winner known for her powerful drives, Lexi Thompson was also part of the team.

With Nelly Korda’s addition, Team USA gains strength for the upcoming clash. If the Team USA Wins, this will be the first win on foreign soil for them since 2015.
