Khang, who won her maiden victory at the CPKC Women’s Open last month, was spotted talking about her coach, her father Lee Khang. Lee, a golf instructor, is the only coach the 25-year-old golfer has ever had. Lee started his golfing journey about 23 years ago as a player. 

Now he has established himself as a golf instructor. With her father’s mentorship and her own hard work, Khang has finally reached where she truly deserves to be. As the efforts are finally paying off, the young American golfer spoke about her father’s involvement in her game.

She went on to talk about his reactions when she won her first professional win. In the latest Instagram post shared by Boston Globe Sports, Khang shared, “He cried and everything, and my dad is not a crier.”

She continued: “It’s truly a dream that we finally accomplished the goal that we had been working toward since essentially when I knew I wanted to go pro.” 

Well, this says it all: how a good mentor can shape your professional journey. Khang is now all set to show her skills with the same level of determination at the upcoming Solheim Cup.

A look into Khang’s performance at the CPKC Women’s Open

Khang had an amazing form in the said event as she went on to secure her first-ever professional win on the LPGA Tour. She finished with a total score of 9-under 279, tying her with Jin Young KO. However, later in the playoff round, she played brilliantly and emerged triumphant.
